Collab Writers play Consequences July 4, 2019 at The Library

Here are some of the story ideas that were created at the Collab Writers Networking event at The Library, London on July 4th 2019. We played a disruptive version of the Victorian parlour game ‘Consequences.’

You can also read collaborative stories from previous Collab Writers events: [March 7th Consequences] [November 8, 2018 Consequences]

As you will see from the short video (above) our monthly meet-up isn’t just about writing stories! There’s a bar (where you can also order delicious pizza to share) and it’s a great space for networking! At this event alone a screenwriter and filmmaker paired up and there were discussions between writers, filmmakers and photographers.

If you’ve never played Consequences before come and see what it’s all about at our next Collab Writers networking and collaborative writing event on August 1st, 2019 7-9pm. There are limited spaces. To avoid disappointment Book your ticket NOW

BAD ROMANCE

Sam turns to his left in the excessively noisy bar and sees someone sitting there, alone. ‘What brings you here?’ He asks. The person glances at him and says..

I am looking for love, he said.

——————————————————-

Seth, the name is Seth.’ He replied.

——————————————————-

Sam extended his arm to shake Seth’s hand and realised his beautiful face and eyes were glowing in the light.

——————————————————-

The temperature of the room must have been just above freezing but Seth’s hand was clammy.

ANY GENRE

‘It has all been done before,’ Mo said with an elongated sigh. ‘Variations on worn out themes.’ ‘I don’t think so,’ said Jodie. ‘If it had I would never get out of bed. There would be nothing new to view or do.’ Before Mo could reply a…

Letter came through the letterbox. A hyperdimensional menagerie. She was not expecting that when she woke up this morning.

——————————————————-

That could not be possible. She might be dreaming but why question it? All the best dreams can be lived if only for seconds that go on for dream hours. She peered through the letterbox and asked for the world for more.

THRILLER

Megan looked at her list, it was short. She had looked at it so many times that she knew it off by heart. My pie will be to die for, she thought gleefully. She strode up the fresh produce aisle and placed the three ripest red apples in the store in her basket. She selected the other items just as carefully and paid for her purchases in cash. Sensing that she was being followed again, she did a furtive 360 degree sweep, nobody there, she felt relieved. She walked hastily to her car and…

——————————————————-

Sat down! She knows that making a resilient gesture will disarm her assailant. Brown bears respect and cover from such a defiant stance.

——————————————————-

As she drove off, doors firmly locked, she saw someone crouching down behind a car. Now she knew she had been followed, but why?

——————————————————-

…her apples? Her apples, infiltrated with a memory stick loaded with drawings of a new building on the bank of the Loire, but for what purpose.

——————————————————-

At the very bottom of the page, there were no instructions, just a telephone number. She picked up the phone and dialed the number.

——————————————————-

Her face became red when she realised that the number didn’t exist. Picking up a different phone, she dialed again, the same numbers in a different pattern. A dial-tone! And a click, a voice, mangled, choked, desperate –

——————————————————-

“Hello” said Megan, the voice gasped a little more. I found your memory stick in my shopping. A cold new voice said hello Megan…
